Sojourn Spotlight: Trinity Community Church

God continues to add pastors and churches to our network, and we cannot be more grateful! Please join us in welcoming our latest church to partner with Sojourn Network: Trinity Community Church in Columbia, MO, where Jeremy Linneman is the lead pastor. Read their story, celebrate their wins, and please pray for them in 2017!

Trinity's Story

Trinity Church began when God called a group of leaders and members at Sojourn East to relocate from Louisville KY to Columbia MO to plant a new church. Led by Jeremy and Jessie Linneman, this small group settled into Columbia--a college town of about 130,000 residents--in the late Spring (2017). Trinity exists to connect the unchurched to Christ and his people and will begin Sunday evening gatherings in the Linnemans' home in June 2017. After a season of evangelism, discipleship, and small group gatherings, they expect to begin public services in early 2018.

Key Wins in 2016

  1. Nine members of Sojourn Church have relocated (or are in process of moving) to Columbia MO.

  2. We have connected with several "persons of peace" who have welcomed us into their networks of unchurched friends.

  3. We have reached our goal in securing external funding for the startup phase.

  4. Jeremy has been accepted into a church planting residency that will provide a significant portion of his salary for year 1.

How You Can Pray in 2017

  1. Pray that we can narrow our missional focus to a particular part of Columbia--either Central or Southwest neighborhoods.

  2. We start Sunday evening home gatherings in June 2017. Pray that these are life-giving (not super awkward) and enable us to minister to our neighbors while also equipping our members for ministry. We are prayerfully attempting to have 500 personal conversations with unchurched people by the end of 2017.
