Sojourn Network appoints new Executive Director and Chairman of the Board

Louisville, KY -- The Sojourn Network board of directors unanimously approved two new appointments last week during the board’s May 11 meeting in Destin, Florida.

The first appointment was the election of Dave Harvey, the current chairman of the board, to the position of Executive Director starting July 1, 2015. The second appointment was the election of Brad House as the new chairman of the board of directors, effective July 1, 2015.

The elections of Dave Harvey as Sojourn Network’s third Executive Director and the appointment of Brad House as the new chairman of the board were met with both strong support and excitement by both the board of directors and, two days later, the lead pastors of Sojourn Network who were gathered together in Destin, Florida for the annual lead pastors and wives retreat for Sojourn Network.

Dave Harvey entered pastoral ministry in 1986.  In 1990, he became senior pastor of Covenant Fellowship Church where he began training men and planting churches until 2008. Dave joined the leadership team of Sovereign Grace Ministries in 1995, and began serving full-time with Sovereign Grace in 2008, where he was responsible for church care, church planting, and international expansion. In addition to his new role as Executive Director of Sojourn Network, Dave will continue to preach at Four Oaks Community Church. Dave received a Master of Arts in Missiology from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1989, worked toward a Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1993 to 1995, and in 2001 became a graduate in Westminster’s Doctor of Ministry program. Dave is the author of Am I Called? The Summons to Pastoral Ministry, Rescuing Ambition, and When Sinners Say “I Do”: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage.  Dave and his wife Kimm have been married for 32 years with four children and one granddaughter.

Brad House joined the board of Sojourn Network in 2014 and currently serves Sojourn Community Church in Louisville, KY as Executive Pastor of Ministry. Prior to becoming a pastor at Sojourn, Brad served as the Director of Ministry at Mars Hill Church in Seattle, WA.  Brad is the author of Community: Taking Your Small Groups Off Life Support, a book he wrote to help churches re-imagine what gospel-centered community looks like. He and his wife, Jill, have four children and live in Louisville, KY.

Both of these exciting appointments come at an important moment in the network’s history, and will serve our mission of helping pastors to plant, grow and multiply healthy gospel-centered churches among Sojourn Network’s 32 churches.
