Sola City’s Story

Sola City Church began meeting in homes as a core team of 22 adults + kids in January 2017. We committed to love Jesus, love one another, and love our city with the hopes of being a part of a new church in our community that would bear fruit in church planting and urban ministry for years to come. We communicate that in our mission statement when we say "we exist to spread the supremacy of Jesus to our city and beyond." Now, after an official launch in January 2018, we have doubled in size with many more hearing the gospel for the first time and desiring to join and be baptized. Matter of fact, we did our first baptism August 19 of this year celebrating how God truly has built his church. Many of us have known each other for years; others are brand new. But in all of our hearts, there is great expectation for what God is doing and will continue to do with broken people who trust in Jesus.

Key Wins in 2018

  1. After much prayer, we believe that our core team will have been effective on mission in 2018 if our church has 54 members by the end of the year. By God's grace, we are well on our way to achieving that goal.

  2. When 2018 started, we only had 1 group that met in homes. as of August 2018, we currently have 2 Gospel Communities meeting in our city with a third beginning this fall. We are praising God that He has given us capable men and women who can lead these groups.

  3. We’ve seen 4 individuals commit their lives to Christ!

Ways You Can Pray

  1. We are a young congregation and need biblical wisdom. Please pray that God would send older men and women who want to join our church.

  2. Pray for fruit in evangelism as we labor among strategic urban areas in our city.

  3. Pray the church grows in love and unity.
