Mary Hines

Event Coordinator

Mary joined the network in 2016 as the Events Coordinator. She has years of experience in wedding planning, women’s ministry, discipleship, special church events, and was an “extra” in a few TV shows while living in New York City. Mary is married to Jim, a Directional Elder at Summit Church in Southwest Florida. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Tell us about your role at Sojourn Network.

I love timelines, themes, décor and seeing people feeling valued and cared for. My main focus is the annual Lead Pastors and Wives’ Retreat, but I also work with our team on some of the logistics of the Leaders’ Summit. I appreciate the passion that Sojourn has towards care and hospitality and enjoy using my gifting to create environments for people who attend our events.

Tell us about your family!

Jim and I have been married 36 years! Our oldest son is married to our amazing daughter-in-law and has three adorable children. Our beautiful daughter is newly married and lives in Manhattan and our youngest son has a wonderful girlfriend. We homeschooled our children, served a local church for 12 years, planted a church, served the kingdom in NYC, raised chickens, goats, and a cow, and love overindulging in home-cooked food together.

Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

What's your favorite thing about where you live?

We live in Estero, Florida and love our neighbors, community and the beach. The best thing, though, is that our two sons and our grandchildren live nearby.

What are your favorite books, movies, or TV shows?

I’m not a big reader, but if I had a favorite it would be “Captivating” by Staci Eldredge or “Voice of the Heart” by Chip Dodd. Jim and I love binge watching TV shows and recently enjoyed British crime dramas like Broadchurch and Happy Valley. We’ve also enjoyed This is Us, The Crown, but our all-time favorite is, West Wing.

What's one crazy thing you have to do before you die?

I don’t have a specific item, but I take life day-by-day and continue ask the Lord, “What’s Next!”
